The Hastings City Night Market is back! Launching on October first the City Centre Mall was once again home to live music, crafts and ethnic street food.
Hastings City Business Association General Manager Susan McDade says the Night Market has changed perceptions of the City Centre and added real value to the community with a high quality night market to rival any in New Zealand.
“Our Hastings City Night Market celebrates the best of local live music and artists and provides a wide variety of good quality ethnically diverse street food. Hastings comes alive every Thursday Night!”
People stop by the market after work to buy dinner for the family or pic up fresh veggies. The food is diverse and full of flavour with something for everyone to enjoy from twisted chips to Spanish paella, waffles to fresh fruit ice cream. This year Fijian Curry, Bar-b-que and Sprinkles donuts add even more choices to the already huge array of eats.
High quality live music and activities for the kids encourages families to sit down and stay. This week Grace Duncan and Talitha Blake will share the stage. Some of the best voices in the bay. After they explore the market many people wander down to Farmers or head to the Focal Point Cinema for a movie. An all-around great night out.
This month the market is lit up in pink for breast cancer awareness month. We have the Tremain’s Pink Brest Cancer walk on October 15th so come down and register in the community tent, wear your pink and join in the fun.
Community involvement is key and discussions are underway with local businesses and organisations to sponsor themed events. Anyone who would like more information on becoming a vendor, sponsor or entertaining on stage please contact Hastings City Business Association on 06-876-9093
