English art rock band 10cc comes to Napier

10cc

English art rock band 10cc are returning to New Zealand for seven shows in Auckland, New Plymouth, Palmerston North, Wellington, Napier, Tauranga and Hamilton this November 10-17.

10cc, comprising Graham Gouldman, Rick Fenn, Mick Wilson, Mike Stevens and Paul Burgess, were hot favourites when they performed in NZ to over 50,000 people at a summer concert tour last year.

Fans will now have the chance to hear hits such as Dreadlock Holiday, The Things We Do For Love, I'm Not In Love (featured in films such as Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason and more recently the Disney blockbuster Guardians of the Galaxy), Art For Art's Sake, Rubber Bullets, I'm Mandy Fly Me and Donna, up close and personal in theatres.

And in a rare double-bill, 10cc co-founder Graham Gouldman will open the show with his Heart Full of Songs acoustic set, performing hits he wrote for other artistes, such as Bus Stop and Look Through Any Window (for The Hollies), No Milk Today (Herman's Hermits) and Heart Full of Soul and For Your Love (The Yardbirds).

10cc have sold over 30 million albums worldwide and gave us some of the most lyrically dexterous and musically varied songs of the '70s and '80s.

UB40's only Hawke's Bay concert sells out.

UB401

Record sales for UB40's only Hawke's Bay concert meant many hoping to secure themselves a ticket have sadly missed out.

Presale tickets for the popular reggae band's January 8 2016 concert went on sale at 9am yesterday morning and were gone in around a minute.

The rest of the tickets for Black Barns 1900 capacity venue took about 4 hours to sell out.

Those lucky enough to secure themselves a ticket will be hoping the concert is even better than when they played in Napier in 2005.

Demand was so great that they decided to put on a second show.

UB40, featuring the original members Ali Campbell, Astro and Mickey Virtue, will be returning to New Zealand in early 2016 for their first ever vineyard tour.

One of New Zealand’s much loved festival acts, the Red Red Wine Vineyard Tour sees the band headline a series of concerts in some of the country’s most stunning locations and the band are pleased to announce they will be heading to both the North and South Islands next January.

The Red Red Wine Vineyard Tour will kick off in Hawkes Bay at Black Barn Vineyards, before moving to Rotorua Lakefront and ending the first weekend at Sentry Hill Winery in Taranaki. The following weekend sees the band head south to Waipara Hills in North Canterbury. The original line-up of UB40 with Ali, Astro and Mickey enjoyed huge success over a period of 30 years from 1979 to 2008, with #1 albums, multiple gold and platinum selling albums, Grammy nominations, 4 worldwide #1 hits and over 70 million in sales. Now reunited again, they continue to take their smooth yet rootsy blend around the world and their live performances never fail to uplift the audience.

UB40’s chart hits include Red Red Wine, Cherry Oh Baby, Kingston Town, (I Can’t Help) Falling In Love With You, I Got You Babe, One in Ten, Rat in Mi Kitchen, If It Happens Again, Homely Girl…and the list goes on!

UB40’s Red Red Wine Vineyard Tour takes place between the 8th and 16th January 2016 and will visit some of New Zealand’s most beautiful wine regions.

"We are very excited to be taking one of the world’s greatest bands to our best summer hotspots" explains promoter Jackie Sanders of Jacman Entertainment, "we know Rotorua Lakefront is not a vineyard, but it fits the bill in terms of being a stunning location and more importantly, the fans have been demanding we bring the reggae back to Rotorua."

Limited earlybird tickets ($79+BF) will be available to Jacman Entertainment and venue subscribers at 9am Tuesday 19 May and to the general public from 12 noon via www.eventfinda.co.nz until sold out, after which remaining tickets will be $99+BF.
