Craig Foss MP for Tukituki ANZAC biscuits. Havelock North and Hastings

Tukituki MP, Craig Foss will attend the Fairfax Media New Zealand Business Hall of Fame this evening to honour six New Zealanders who have made an exceptional contribution to the country’s social and economic development.

“It’s great to be attending an event that honours the hard work and success of some the most enterprising people in New Zealand.

“As Commerce Minister, it’s fantastic to see committed Kiwis working hard to better their communities and businesses they’re involved in,” says Mr Foss.

This year’s Fairfax and Young Enterprise Trust announced six laureates into its hall of fame: Sir Graeme Douglas, Bill Gallagher, Sir Patrick Higgins, Thomas Macarthy, Mary Jane Milne and Graeme Lowe.

“These awards have special meaning for me as local MP for Tukituki. Graeme Lowe is a Hawke’s Bay resident, and of course Magpie supporter. He has been a major financial contributor for years to many local community initiatives.”

“All of these people has a story of enterprise, and have contributed generously to their communities. We all can look to these people for inspiration. I congratulate them all and thank them on behalf of the communities they support,” says Mr Foss.

A gala dinner will be held on Thursday 28 June at The Langham, Auckland to acknowledge these six recipients.
