  The Living Image Vintage Camera Museum is situated in the seaside village of Haumoana, 15 minutes from Napier and 15 minutes from Hastings.


This family friendly, multi sensory exhibition explores the story of the Camera, a device that has ignited mankind’s imagination throughout the ages.

  


Found in every corner of the world cameras have recorded the most striking and memorable events on the planet.

Step into Wonderland and discover, possibly, the world’s third largest camera collection.

The Museum is a magical world of irreplaceable cameras, camera related objects from the museum’s rich collections, and a vintage car collection. Look and enjoy the fascinating world of cameras.

 

See for yourself Movies from yester-year at The Living Image Vintage Camera Museum’s theatre. 

 

 Visitors will be able sit back and experience some of the biggest names in film.Mainly LEICA, ROLLEI, and VOIGTLANDER but the Museum has everything from the first Kodak Box Brownies up to the throw-away one shot promotional cameras.  

All cameras are in working order and are still capable of producing lovely images.

The camera collection began in a modest way during the 1950's.  Prior to the end of 1950, second-hand cameras by German manufacturers such as LEICA, ROLLEI, EXACTA and VOIGTLANDER were readily available in camera shops. 

 

Whilst at The Living Image Vintage Camera Museum see Colin's vintage car collection, an experience worth the visit just by its self!
