Greenpeace is bringing its Sad Fish Team to town this week as part of a nationwide tour to safeguard the future of New Zealand fisheries
The team, along with its Sad Fish mascot will attend public events, meeting with local students as well as talk with seafood retailers and customers.
The organisation is trying to get supermarkets to stop selling seafood species that being depleted.
Spokesman Phil Crawford says parts of our oceans are being destroyed and fisheries are being over-fished by methods such as bottom trawling.
