The Sensible Sentencing Trust says it's become a victim of its own success.
The Trust has been told its status as a charitable organisation is likely to be revoked.
The Charities Commission says its primary role looks to be political advocacy, and therefore isn't eligible to be officially recognised as a charity.
Without charitable status, they'd be forced to pay tax on donations received.
Garth McVicar says they'll be fighting the decision tooth and nail.
Mr McVicar says they'll be fighting for a law change should their application to remain a charity be denied.
