The Hawke’s Bay Young Fruit Grower's competition attracting record numbers.

A record number of young fruit growers will vie for their industry's most prestigious title next month.

The Hawke’s Bay Young Fruit Grower's competition will be held during the Eastern Horticulture Field Days in Hastings.

The 10 finalists will be tested on their ability to run a business and to manage a productive crop.

The winner will travel to the South Island to visit a number of apple growers and packing operators, before representing their region at the Young Grower of the Year final.
