Eight rural schools in Hawke's Bay will be among facilities to benefit from the latest broadband rollout.
Fifty seven remote schools and 193 provincial schools around New Zealand are included in the latest Rural Broadband Initiative contracts.
Central Hawke's Bay, Clive, Waipawa, Waipukurau and Wairoa schools will be among them.
The government says faster broadband will allow them to break down barriers imposed by distance and isolation.
